I just wanted to issue out a huge thank you for the supportive comment and emails that I’ve been getting from you all. It really means a lot to me, and though I’m not huge on the “responding to commenters” Just know that I appreciate every single one.

And for those of you that want more writer-reader interaction… I’m trying… I really am…

I just know that I’m going to be murdered for this, but I have recently found myself unable to write to my fullest capabilities. My new boss has effectively murdered both my sleep schedule and my writing time.

As some of you may or may not know, a majority of my writing is done while at work. Previous bosses had no problems with this, as all my job-related duties were done before I ever sat down to write. The problem now, is that my new boss is a workaholic and as such he expects the rest of us to follow his so-called “example” and do more work than is actually necessary, despite the fact that there are two other shifts which we effectively rob of any work that they could do.

This means tons of busy work, and little-to-no “chill time.” He also has a nasty habit of extending my working hours far longer than necessary, causing most of my work-days to be 10 to 11 hours long.

All of the above, combined with a wife who works an opposite shift with seemingly random days off and a 10 month old daughter, tends to leave me with an average of 3 hours of sleep a day.

Needless to say, I’m exhausted pretty much all the time and I feel that my writing has started to suffer because of it.

So for now, I’m going to put Winter’s Mercenary on hiatus… again. What I’ll be doing with this time off, is trying to establish a buffer, as well as complete the two remaining bonus stories that I’ve promised you.

So keep an eye on your RSS feeds, because I will be posting the bonus stories as I complete them, and when I have myself a month-ish buffer, we’ll be back to regular updates. Who knows, if I manage to get into a writing spree I might even get you all more than once a week updates.

But don’t get your hopes up, cause I suck at keeping promises.

Well, since I apparently suck at updating twice per week, were gonna go back to one at a time. I figure that people will be less disappointed this way, plus it will allow me to return to bigger chapters as I’ve always felt like I was cheating you guys with how tiny my posts have been recently.

That is all.

I’ve had an on and off fever for the past few days so Monday’s update is going to be late with an extreme possibility of only one update again this week…

So, I’ve got a proposition to make it up to you. You the readers can ask me questions in the comment form. I will pick somewhere around 3 of them (if there even are that many) and see if I can work their answers into one or more bonus stories when I’m feeling a bit better.

Firstly, some of you may have noticed that I’m joining the twitter trend. Secondly, I’m going to apologise for the extreme shortness of this segment. I’ve been having trouble transcribing my thoughts to the story. So I found a semi decent stopping point and we’ll see what happens next week.

It looks like I’m going to be a bit late with today’s update. It should still be up today… but I couldn’t tell you when.

Sort of. As it turns out, There’s no way that I can re-vamp (pun not necessarily intended) the first few chapters without the pace slowing to a crawl. So I’ve decided to say “fuckit” and leave it alone. Maybe one day, I’ll reach a point where I can change it and like it better.

The good news is that I’m a charged and ready to see if I can actually attempt to update twice a week without notice, maybe even throwing in some review incentives or something… We’ll see what happens with that though.

Oh! One last thing, expect the next installment to go live at Midnight CDT.

Some issues involving a review that I wrote over at The Web Fiction Guide just kept throwing me out of the proper headspace. I want to say firstly, thank you all for the input about the first color change. Secondly, I’ve received some emails and some other suggestions, The end result is that the white background is not the preferred color. So, I’ve mucked around with the code for the site and now were gonna try out yet ANOTHER color scheme… and give it another go.

I’ve been getting numerous not-quite-complaints about the black background. So were gonna try out a more standard black text/white background.

Let me know which is preferred.

I was just idly sitting by, and wanted to say a little something to my small amount of readers. That one little thing is a simple thank you.

I’m going to apologize in advance for this segment… I’ve spent all week trying to make it more readable and ease out some of the suck but I’m at a dead end with it so I’m going to post it as is. Once again, I apologize for the suck.

It wouldn’t be inaccurate to assume that I couldn’t exactly not say that this is or isn’t almost partially incorrect. I’m possibly more or less not definitely rejecting the idea that in no way with any amount of uncertainty that I undeniably am or am not maybe possibly carrying through with this.
