The Chronicles of James Damian

“We now walk amongst the humans. Though as I said earlier, if the sun is out, we generally aren’t going to do much. You see, even though the sunlight doesn’t kill us, it limits us physically. You wont be seeing any of us lifting people off of the ground, or moving quicker than you can perceive. As a matter of fact, if you see someone waking down the street with a pair of fangs it more than likely means that you need to get behind a threshold because the night is fast approaching. And take it from me, you do not want to be around a vampire who’s spent all day in the sun.

“Things get messy when that happens.”

- Samuel Lasher to James Damian

I’m going to put it in the Bonus Story section, and Winter’s Mercenary will [...]

I was less than 100 feet from the exit when things started to go wrong. A woman who was walking towards us gave me a look that could only mean she recognized my new-to-me face. When she got close, she said something involving a lot of hissing and clicking.
    Not knowing what she [...]

    Chapter 13, Part 4

“Christ on a cracker Angel,” I said, surveying the scene in awe.
“It’s been a long week James. I’ve spent most of my time training and disciplining my team.” Angel replied, anger starting to surface again as she slipped in front of me and tried to herd me out of the room.
    The room [...]
